Monday

Monday- Today Terry and Marylin dropped me off at the Park of Europe while they did errands. It is bastically a GIANT park (I mean it is a little bigger than michigan's adventure I'd say) with mini famous things from most of the different countries in it. Since it was 102 degrees outside I only saw a couple, but they were cool!
The grand entrance!

Info-

Okay, just saying, it is very hard to take a selfie with you and a whole giant building in it :)

Okay here I was in a little cave type thing, and there was SHADE!! *cue the heavenly sounds* because there was little shade in the park that had benches underneath for me to sit down. So I'm like "yay! I can chill here, and read my book" then I saw ants crawling on the fake rocks. I'm sorry, I do not even share the same floor with ants much less a place where I SIT. So I didn't. ROFL

Mini Eifel Tower!!

Okay, you know how hard it is doing this solo? Very! This is the best it's gunna get. Haha

Hey got that one okay!

Gosh I have always wanted to see the Eifel tower, and this is a PERFECT substitute! YAY!!!

Okay, story time. I have ALWAYS wanted a picture under the Eifil tower with all of the tower in it. The only problem was that I was alone, and there wasn't anyone in that sector of the park. SO I had to come up with a plan B, because I WAS going to get this picture! Haha. I set my backpack on the end of the path so I got a full view of the tower. Then I set my camera wait thingy for 10s (the longest it would go), I would press the button and just SPRINT down the road as fast as I could (which is not very fast :P )Now, the road is about a basketball court's length. I would quick pose and it snapped the picture. Now, I wanted to make sure I got a good one! So I did this several maybe 7 times, in 102 degree weather, and I hate running, it felt like was melting from the outside from the sun, and I looked like a complete idiot because I was running up and down this path like a chicken with no head, BUT I got the picture. YAS!!!!! For the win!!!! Hahahaha

End of story :)

Okay one last story! This is one of those stories where you hate in the moment, but looking back at it later you have to laugh because it is one of those "this is what you get when you travel alone in a foreign country" stories." :D
I call this my 6 Euro Smoothie Disaster
So after walking in the 102 degree sun for over an hour, I was just done. Tired, hungry, thirsty, and spongebob out of watery. I had been wandering around the park the whole time trying to find one food stand that was open so I could get something to eat. After being unsucessful (because apparently the food stands are open only on the weekends) I sat down on the only bench I could find in the park. Now, I kept hearing these announcement for the ONLY restaurant that was open in the park that takes about 20 minutes just to walk across the long way! Only being able to understand a little of the message I thought I knew what restaurant the voice was talking about. So I packed up my stuff and dragged my feet 7 minutes across the park with no shade only to find that I was wrong. So, I went for my very last choice: a sandwich from the vending machine... Which wasn't awful thankfully! And a sprite. Okay, dragging my feet back across the park again to the bench I sat down and ate my mysterious substance with bread. After eating, I mustered just enough energy to try and find a better bench that was more in the shade. Now, 100 steps to my left and around the corner, what do I find.......... You guessed it! The only restaurant that is open in the park!!! -_- really, r u SERIOUS!! Haha. Oh well, I brushed it off and went inside anyway. AC. *cue the heavenly sounds* I thought I could at least get a smoothie because that sounded amazing! Plus if I order a smoothie I can relax on the couch in the AC with the Internet they have so I can talk to my mom (because they weren't picking me up for another 2 hours). 6 Euros. 6 EUROS FOR A SMOOTHIE! You have got to be kidding me. That is like 7 U.S. Dollars! Oh well, I'll do it anyway, it's probably really good, and i can only have wifi if I order something, I'll do it.
Okay, and you think we were already going downhill. LOL just wait... ;)
So the smoothie was nasty, chunks of ice with mango syrup, mmmkay. 7 dollar ice and mango syrup in a fancy glass! Well at least I have AC and the Internet! I go up to the counter and ask for the password..... . . The Internet is broken. FINE! Okay! Fine! I will just sit here, sip my mango syrup and read my boring book for College English. Nope- that is okay. Really!

HAHAHA this is probably one of my favorite story from my trip because it is soooo funny looking back on it! I mean, you can't go to a foreign country solo without a crazy story to tell! Ahhh, I can still laugh about this one. ROFL

Sunday

Sunday- Today I went back to the center of Madrid to shop :). I had a lot of fun (well of course, it's shopping! Who wouldn't? Haha!) but it was SUPER hot! When I mean hot, I mean 102F. Gahh! It's been like that all week. Anyway, I got to go shopping by myself for about 2 hours, and then I met up with Allyson and her friend Ave to go to lunch. Ave is actually from Astonia! (Which I didn't even know was a country... thank you elementary school! ;) Apparently America is known for their poor school education, oh well, I can tipe goodly enuf. ANYWAY we went to a really fancy restaurant in Madrid, and for 12 bucks we got a 3 course meal. Although I have a small stomach, so I ended up throwing half of it away because I was full... Don't judge me! I already feel bad, okay! I would have gotten a box, but they don't do those in Europe. After lunch we started waking to a park that was about a mile away. On the way there was a little farmer's market type thing, but with all hand made stuff! So it was really cool to walk down and see everything that people made, from jewelry to leather things, to wooden games. About half way, we had to stop at the closest pub (which happened to be Irish!) because we felt like spongebob in Sandy's dome without water.
You get the picture (basically every time I refer to doing something outside, this is how I felt when I stepped outside LOL). After cooling down, we finally made it the rest of the way to the park. The park was so cool! It was like Sentenial park, but x100 on steroids! We visited a museum/exhibit type thing. Now I had just walked for like 30 minutes in the beating sun, I am tired, I am in a museum exhibit thing with AC, I want to sit down because I am tired, right? Makes sense! I don't see benches, no benches! Okay, I will just sit in a corner, where I am in nobody's way (mainly because there is like no one in there) to wait for Allyson and Ave to finish looking around. But NOOO, when I sit down, this security dude comes over, glares at me and motions for me to stand up. I WAS SO CONFUSED! Apparently you aren't allowed to sit down in museum exhibits..... HAHA - tip for the future! :) Then we visited the Crystal Palace, which was cool! And just walked around the park. (At this point, I was scared to sit down anywhere!) O_O

Cherry Tree- national tree

Kilometer 0! This is where everything like the highways are based off of in Spain. It is the center!

Standing in the center of Spain!

International LGBT day. I think.

So much food! Spanish meat balls and Paella.

The bank of Spain

Puerta de Madrid

The "no sitting because I said so, not because there is a sign" museum/exhibit.

.......

......

Art is really interesting to some people. I just don't get it. But in case you are an art lover- here you go!

Crystal Palace!

Oh good! I can lay down for sure!

Okay, there were one of these in Alicante where I was staying. Since it looks like a goose and a rooster, i named it a gooster! It's a gooster!

Cool shrub bush things all the way down!

Trap door..... Whaaaaaaaat

It's the craft market!

Okay, I asked for a basket of fries. I though I was going to get, you know, one of those small baskets with a handful of fries in it. But NO, I get a freaking bucket of French fries! How am I suppose to eat this all? HAHAHAHA

Tree is on fire!!! Ahhhh!! Oh wait, nope, just kidding, it's just the sunset :)

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Wednesday- Today is our last day here in Alicante. We went evangelizing one more time in the center of Alicante after lunch on the board walk next to the Mediterranean Sea. At 5 o'clock Megan, Jint and I went back to the house. We were planning on everyone coming home, having dinner, and then going back to the beach. Since it would be silly to both waste gas a go home. So the three of us came home and made dinner for everyone else and then brought it back to the rest of the team at the beach. We arrived back at the beach at about midnight. This was the night where the festival hit its peak. So they would burn the statues down and there were fireworks everywhere. I didn't see any of the statues burned down, but I saw the fire of it in the background. Our plan was just to worship on the beach while everyone else was partying and what not. It was good, it was fun when strangers started singing with us. We didn't get back home until 3am and I didn't end up going to bed until 4am. I was so tired, people were trying to talk to me, and I am just thinking "you are a nice person, and I would love to talk to you from the hours of 9am to 10pm, but it is 4am. Can you please SHUT IT!" hahaha LOL. I didn't say that I just nodded and mhmmed. :)
Not sure if I showed you this picture already. But the sunset was so cool!

Thursday- Today we just traveled back to the YWAM base in Madrid.
Im going to miss this little bundle of joy! Her name is Cloe, and she is blind. But that doesn't stop her from going anywhere so wants! Haha

Friday- Today was a chill day for me. I was super tired from the past week so I just mostly stayed in bed, watched videos and read (don't worry, it's for College English, why else would I read? Hahaha!) I ended up taking a walk around the neighborhood, which turned out to be a bad idea because it was bigger than I thought and it was 95 degrees outside.... Oh well, at least I got ice cream! :)

Saturday- Today was one of my favorite days! Marilyn and Terry drove me sight seeing to a dam, and then a little village in the mountains. :D

I though this was an amazing sight... But just wait... There's more!!

Boom! Whaaaaaat

The Dam in Madrid- WOW

#selfie

#idontlikehashtagsbutIliketakingpicturesinfrontofthings :)

Next we visited a little town in the mountains. There are like 80 people who live here. Super small- but super pretty!

Saturday is when everyone takes their motorcycles out and rides around the mountains.

Bus stop

Cute little restaurant

Part of the town

So this is where people would separate wheat back in the day.

See the wall way back there? That is where they would keep sheep!

We stopped at another look out for a different angle to view the dam. :)

I'm so tiny!!
